About The Course


Mobile computing is now one of the preferred modes of communication amongst the younger generation who highly prioritise “portability”. This programme will furnish students with a strong grounding in the technological aspects of specially designed courses such as software management and operating systems, databases, networks as well as programming, among others. Students will learn the fundamentals of problem-solving, network designing and database management, and will develop deeper understanding of the key principles applied in mobile computing. Students will be tested on their understanding of key principles, fact and theories, and will demonstrate their skills in system design, development and management.

This course seeks to develop the students’ programming skills in the areas of network and multimedia, placing great emphasis on the latest mobile technologies as well as providing graduates with the skills and knowledge to contribute significant efforts as computing professionals within the global community.

Entry Requirement

UCSI Foundation year
: Pass (Minimum CGPA of 2.0), inclusive of Credit (C) in Additional Mathematics in SPM

STPM : Minimum 2 principals (C grade), inclusive of Principal (C) in Mathematics at STPM/A-Level, or Credit (C) in Additional Mathematics at SPM/O-Level
A-levels : Minimum 2 principals (E grade), inclusive of Principal (E) in Mathematics at STPM/A-Level, or Credit (C) in Additional Mathematics at SPM/O-Level
UEC : Minimum 5 credits (B6), including Additional Mathematics

National Matriculation : Minimum CGPA of 2.0, inclusive of a minimum Credit (C) in Additional Mathematics at SPM

Other qualifications deemed equivalent to STPM/A-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency : MIinimum overall average of 60%, inclusive of minimum 60% score in Mathematics
Diploma (Computing-related) : Minimum CGPA of 2.5, inclusive of a minimum Credit (C) in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level
Diploma (Non-Computing related) : Minimum CGPA of 2.5, inclusive of a minimum Credit (C) in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level

Note (Source: Surat Pekeliling MQA Bil 1/2016):

  • The terms of credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM level for the candidate with STPM, STAM or Matriculation/Foundation qualification can be exempted if the candidate obtained Mathematics and its achievement is equivalent or higher than the required credit of Additional Mathematics at the SPM level.
  • International applications are required to satisfy the English language requirements by achieving an overall score of 5.0 in IELTS OR any other equivalent English proficiency test which has benchmarked against CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).


English Language Requirements

  • Overall score of 5.0 in IELTS OR any other equivalent English proficiency test.
  • In the event that the English Language Requirements are not met, student may be required to undertake additional English module(s) prior to or concurrently with the undergraduate programme, based on the University’s decision.

International students holding equivalent academic qualifications but which are not conducted in English, are required to sit for the English Placement Test, which may result in the taking of the English for Tertiary Education (1 to 10 months). Students who intend to pursue the above undergraduate programme directly, are advised to fulfil the above English requirements prior to commencing their studies at the University.
